A voice pronounces the name of Kenny Loggins and a guitar begins to play in the background amidst the applause of the audience. A moment later the applause ceases and from this magma of sounds and noises emerges something divine that compels you to do nothing but listen: it is what common men would call a voice, but in this case, it would belittle the instrument that Kenny Loggins has been endowed with.

This atmosphere continues for the first four songs where Kenny is accompanied solely by his guitar, and where his pleasantly muffled bass and exuberant high notes knock your heartbeats out of sync, sending you into an indescribable excitement. In "Long Tail Cat", the fifth track, Kenny begins to sing accompanied by the audience who gradually regain awareness of space and time, and finally the band joins in. In the next track, "Listen To A Country Song", Jim Messina joins by singing and playing alongside Kenny with excellent harmony.
Following are "Holiday Hotel", "Just Before The News", and "Angry Eyes" where the band performs breathtaking instrumental parts, and where in addition to the two guitars, Larry Sims' bass and Jon Clarke's brass stand out; closing the first record with two slightly calmer songs to avoid mishaps among the listeners.
The second begins with "Vahevala", a twenty-minute track with alternations between vocal and instrumental parts; succeeding this are songs characterized by the amazing improvisations of sax, flute, and violin over the impeccable accompaniment of bass and drums.

The album is closed by the cheers of the audience in delirium, which ensured that this '74 live would remain in history and would introduce country-rock to the global scene.
