Scottish singer-songwriter who first came to prominence with Lloyd Cole and the Commotions in the mid-1980s, notably with the album Rattlesnakes (1984). He later pursued a long-running solo career marked by literate lyrics and melodic folk-pop/rock, including albums such as Lloyd Cole (1990), Don’t Get Weird on Me, Babe (1991), Music in a Foreign Language (2003), and Antidepressant (2006).
