LITFIBA - SPIRITO
''When I wake up, I search for my dreams, I can't find them anymore; I don't open my eyes to call you back, and to see my fantasy again...'' - Spirito -
This is one of the most significant phrases found in this album by the Florentine band, which is back with a new work after the excellent ''Terremoto''. An album somewhat cunning, somewhat well made this ''Spirito'', which alternates episodes of remarkable quality with others less successful. Among all, ''Animale di zona'' stands out, a track in which Ghigo gives his best, while, as far as the lyrics are concerned, the best is that of ''Tammuria'', still very relevant today. Worth mentioning is also ''No frontiere'' even if musically it has a somewhat slow melody, and ''Ora d'aria'', where Ghigo gives us another great performance.
Piero, on the other hand, is still in good shape, although the subsequent live album ''Lacio drom'' will probably say otherwise, and he shines on the notes of the title track, as well as on those of the opening track of the album ''Lo spettacolo''. And it's precisely this track that leaves one puzzled, with its rather banal lyrics, featuring the predictable phrase ''The show must go on'', although it must be said that during live performances it is a piece that achieves success and still delivers a jolt, perhaps because it's the good Piero who feels it in his blood...
The same can be said for ''Lacio Drom''. with its ambiguous and unusual rhythm, which shortly will become one of the most popular and acclaimed songs, to the detriment, for example, of the aforementioned ''Ora d'aria'', usually overlooked. Despite the album thus alternating between good things and others that could be better, it will have a good public success, but it must be explicitly stated that it is the album that marks the end of the Litfiba rock period, because with the subsequent ''Mondi Sommersi'' this type of music is practically nonexistent.
Now they've returned and their new album of unpublished songs is awaited, so it can finally be said that the show has started again.
