THE REVIEW

Florence, 02/12/1999 - 3:30 PM

"........Ghigo, how are you? It's Piero. How's it going? I'm great, still have the mega New Year's orgy in my head. What do you say? EMI wants us to record yet another CD? Wasn't the warmed-over crap from 2 years ago, "Mondi Sommersi," enough for them? Ah........yes, yes.....I understand, I understand. These are the classic market demands, of course..........but honestly, I don't have a shred of an idea for this potential new album. Ah, do you already have some interesting and revolutionary ideas in mind? Wow, then let's meet. I'll catch up with you later, I'm going to the bathroom. Ghigo, I'm going to seek inspiration. ".

".........Ghigo, a fantastic idea has come to me for our next CD. We could call it "INFINITO", what do you think? The name came to me as I realized that the crap of just now seemed, indeed, infinite and in some way a symbol of our continuous output in the musical world for the past 2 years. See? In my foolishness, I can also be very philosophical and metaphorical. So you're in agreement? We'll call it INFINITO? Perfect. Talk soon, Ghigo. UUUUAaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!! ".

Here, at last, dear debasers, is the unique behind-the-scenes story of the creation of the greatest album in the absolute history of Italian music: INFINITO by Litfiba.

INFINITO is more than a CD. INFINITO is sensuality, it is smell, it is taste, it is love.

All the songs are pearls destined to last and exist eternally: IL MIO CORPO CHE CAMBIA, FRANK, VIVERE IL MIO TEMPO... but above all the unreachable SEXY DREAM, with that splendid and gentle falsetto by Piero Pelù that adds a touch of vocal color to the entire track.

This CD, inexplicably, was not well-received by Litfiba fans upon its release.

Only the history of music, with its time, will be able to do justice to the best CD in Italian Musical History: INFINITO.

No thrill, no surprise, this album glides away unnoticed, and its greatest utility might be as background music.

A real shame, in any case, almost a stab to the heart.
