THE REVIEW

Linkin Park may be the least original and most rhetorical band of all time, and they might indeed be commercial, but one cannot deny that they perform quite well live.

This album should not be interpreted as a commercial gimmick or as a rushed live show, because starting from these assumptions makes it impossible to grasp all the aspects, both positive and negative, of the album. After having seen it several times, I can say that this concert is truly great because, in addition to gathering the best songs from "Hybrid Theory" and "Meteora," it manages to convey emotions and above all a lot of energy, thanks to the passion put in by all the musicians in the group, and it's really enjoyable even for the shots made with great care and capable of focusing the viewer's attention (apart from some excessive cuts to the audience) on all the band members and not on one in particular; finally, the stripped-down stage setup forces you to concentrate solely on the performance.

The versions of "A Place For My Head" (it literally made me jump all around!!), "Don't Stay" (perfect to start the live show), the interesting version of "By Myself" and the remix of "Pushing Me Away" - in my opinion the best song on the album because it shows a melodic side that is not for this reason cheesy of the band and gives a moment of respite between one scream and another - and "Faint" (even though Chester seemed on the verge of bursting in the last chorus, I almost started laughing!!) are very well done. The only flaws are Chester's screams, which are not always as powerful as they should be, and the absence of tracks like "Hit the Floor" and "Nobody Listening," which would have added some more points to the CD.

Preparing myself for possible criticisms, I wish you a good read!

This Live In Texas is the last resort of a band that... has already run out of ideas.

The downfall of this group was the remix album and the one with Jay-Z... they lost the gleam of musical coherence they had.
