THE REVIEW

RIGHT NOW: It kicks off with a bang, damn it!!! Bass at full throttle, guitars at maximum, drums more solid than ever, and a perfect voice. It couldn't get any better...
BREAK SOME OFF: Calm verse and chorus full of intensity: guys, we're doing great!!!
COUNTING ON ME: Quite melodic, but spot on. Fantastic voice tone shift by Jonathan, from melody to intensity.
HERE IT COMES AGAIN: Beautiful track, all five guys are playing divinely.
DEEP INSIDE: After Mr. Fieldy's riff, the song maintains good levels.
DID MY TIME: Beautiful track, fantastic riffs by Munky and Head. Guys, so far I haven't found any flaws...
EVERYTHING I’VE KNOWN: ...I spoke too soon!!! The track in question isn't bad, but it doesn't seem to fit much with the album... if it weren't for the
bass, it would remind me of a track from “Untouchables”.
PLAY ME: Another so-so track, considering the presence of a rapper, Nas... fortunately, it's less rap than other Korn rap/metal tracks (the horrible CHILDREN OF THE KORN and CAMELTOSIS from the awful “Follow The Leader” are lessons...).
ALIVE: Old demo, for this album the song was completely redone. The result is very good, with an initial riff by Fieldy that gives you goosebumps...
LET’S DO THIS NOW: This is the bagpipe song, the track where the bagpipe is present. The song, quite “power” (but not too much), is very interesting to listen to.
I’M DONE: Another engaging riff by the two guitarists. Very engaging song.
Y’ALL WANT A SINGLE: I might be wrong, but to me, it's the SURFACING of Korn... the track is beautiful, although it might not fit so well in this album, meaning most of the songs are quite epic, while this one perhaps is a bit less, a bit more “Life Is Peachy”...
WHEN WILL THIS END: Beautiful song to conclude the album.
ONE: Performed at the MTV Icon dedicated to Metallica, Korn does this splendid track justice, with a drum finale that thrilled me...

TAKE A LOOK IN THE MIRROR

After the bad “Follow The Leader” and the decent “Issues” and “Untouchables”, finally Korn, in 2003, decided to release a masterpiece worthy of the first “Korn”. Frankly, I struggle to find a real flaw: maybe there are some songs that don't quite fit with the CD (PLAY ME and Y’ALL WANT A SINGLE, but not because the latter is bad), but, when you listen to the album, you don't notice at all...
The second-best album of the Californian band after “Korn”.

Summary by Bot

Korn's 2003 album 'Take a Look in the Mirror' is hailed as a powerful, nearly flawless return to their roots. The reviewer praises its strong instrumentation, dynamic vocals, and memorable riffs. Although a few tracks feel slightly out of place, the overall quality ranks it as Korn’s second-best album. The collaboration with Nas and the bagpipe introduction are noted, but don't detract from the record’s impact.

If 'the important thing is not the fall but the landing,' this review/sports commentary is the only worthy thing about this record.

As every time I 'land' after listening to it, nothing remains; in short, no action for the replay.

The textures built by the axemen along with Davis’s extraordinary performance create a sonic wall sharp and piercing enough to cut through steel.

An album of certainly not cheerful and easy-listening music, rather heavy and rebellious.

 damn! what an album!

BUY IT! SPEND! WASTE your money!

By Metal Man

"Today’s Korn reflect (through the mirror) in yesterday’s Korn."

"With this album, Korn reclaim the scepter of generational spokespersons, those who know how to capture the emotions, frustrations, anger, and fears of a generation."

A great success, it’s certainly not on par with the already mentioned and splendid debut album, but it shows no weakness and proves to be one of the band’s most compact and aggressive albums.

Simply a masterpiece is "Alive," a song that dates back to the writing period of their first album and indeed aligns closely with that legendary album.
