THE REVIEW

The year was 2011, I was still a young and naive lad: I admit, at the beginning I fell for it too. These tracks are awesome, I told myself, damn these Knife Party are the future...
A few listens later the boredom was already spreading, these Knife Party are such opportunists, they're just riding a trend that has nothing more to say, scraping the bottom of a barrel where the vacuum reigns.

It's been a year since the release of "100% No Modern Talking" and I'm still an incurable hopeful. Let's give dear Rob and Gareth another chance I told myself, this is not just small potatoes, if they put their mind to it, they can come up with a great electro-house EP...

Once again, after scratching off the golden veneer of Pendulum production callbacks, the hit samples, the flawless production, what's left? Nothing.

Except for "Bonfire" (which at least is galvanizing), what remains is a cocktail of sounds that have gone from predictable to tedious, a song structure irritating in its predictability, zero flair, zero fun.

At this point, let's hope they go back to focusing on drum'n'bass as soon as possible.

This review critiques Knife Party's Rage Valley EP, initially praised but ultimately seen as unoriginal and predictable. Despite good production and one standout track, the EP lacks creativity and excitement. The reviewer hopes the duo will return to their drum'n'bass roots.
