Beautiful Nastassja has nothing to do with this; it's about a Seattle quartet, active for about 4 years in the American indie scene, on their third release signed with Sub Pop.
I listened to them on the advice of an American guy I randomly crossed paths with on a message board, and I immediately liked them.

Eight tracks balancing between space rock and post rock, completely instrumental (except one), expansive and sprawling, psychedelic and cerebral. The references that come to mind while listening to them are many: noise distortions worthy of Sonic Youth, sonic explorations in the style of Spacemen 3, intense and dreamy atmospheres in My Bloody Valentine style, intimate and twilight tones reminiscent of Yo La Tengo, complex and articulated structures like GYBE and Mogwai.

Despite all these influences, it doesn't seem like you're facing a puzzle of pieces awkwardly put together: in the face of the risk of getting lost in the game of references, Kinski respond by diverging from the points of reference and defining a sound all their own, sometimes tense, sometimes relaxed, but always alive and dynamic.
A colorful sound: shaded tints in the interminable and hypnotic 11 minutes of "Schedule for Using Pillows and Beanbags," fiery red pastels in the sharp distortions of "Semaphore," soft watercolors along the carpet of keyboards and guitars in "I Think I Blew It."

With their palette, Kinski paint a beautiful picture of intense, idle, and volatile sonic impressions.
