The Profile

Kinski is a Seattle-based American rock band formed in 1998. Known for instrumental-heavy blends of post-rock, space/psychedelic textures and noise, they’ve released multiple albums on Sub Pop and remain an adventurous live and studio presence.

Seattle quartet on Sub Pop; praised for melding 60s/70s psychedelia with post-/space-rock. Down Below It’s Chaos was produced by Randall Dunn. Songs referenced include Semaphore, Crybaby Blowout, Punching Goodbye Out Front, Boy, Was I Mad!, and Silent Byker Type. Interview confirms La Monte Young as an influence and a riff-first, jam-based writing approach. They’ve toured with Mission of Burma, Comets on Fire, Oneida, Mono, Acid Mothers Temple, Black Mountain, and Tool.
