The Profile

Kingdom Come is a German hard rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1987 by Hamburg-born singer, guitarist, and producer Lenny Wolf. The band’s 1988 debut drew heavy Led Zeppelin comparisons and commercial success, followed by evolving lineups and a long career based from Germany, with later albums incorporating darker, industrial-tinged textures.

Formed in Los Angeles in 1987 by Lenny Wolf (Hamburg, Germany). Debut album “Kingdom Come” (1988) produced by Bob Rock featured singles “Get It On” and “What Love Can Be” and drew strong Led Zeppelin comparisons. Performed at Monsters of Rock in 1988 and toured with Scorpions and Bon Jovi. Subsequent releases included In Your Face (1989), Hands of Time (1991), and later Germany-based albums; from 2002’s Independent the project incorporated industrial elements. Kingdom Come has remained active with changing lineups.

DeBaser’s reviewers spar (politely) over Kingdom Come’s Zeppelin-sized shadow but agree the riffs and production hit hard. The debut’s success, the sturdier In Your Face, and the introspective Hands of Time map a path from L.A. beginnings to German-rooted persistence. Later records lean darker, sometimes industrial, with Lenny Wolf’s voice and vision always at the center.
