The KeeN is an Italian Industrial Metal band formed in 2003. All the members come from a small town in Abruzzo, and their names are Gianni Buccigrossi (singer), Cristian Esposito (guitar), Daniele Campea (keyboards and samples), Patrizio D'Artista (drums), and Maurizio Marchetti (bass).

In just a few years, the band has managed to demonstrate its talent, becoming one of the most important metal groups in the Italian underground scene. Their sound is influenced by the most famous bands on the international Industrial Metal scene, but it stands out due to influences from other sub-genres (Nu, Death...). This is their latest self-produced EP, released in 2005, which I'm about to review.

It begins with "Swallow": keyboard introduction, a rhythm that builds up, and a damn "catchy" riff that grabs you from the first listen; the track reveals the main influences of the group: in the verses, the vocals seem to imitate those of Sasha Konietzko, and in the choruses, those of Till Lindemann. "Dancing With Desire" has an almost club-like intro, which then turns into a rather predictable but catchy riff. It continues with "Anthem Of A Little Child," where the particularly scratchy guitar and Buccigrossi's voice stand out. Here ends the first part of the album, perhaps the most electronic, because in the other half of the EP, it will reach more Heavy sounds. It resumes with "Mechanical Rusting Doll," which immediately confirms what I just said, a "hard" and relatively heavy riff, although the track is actually a "bomb track": slow verse and full-volume chorus. The title-track is the best piece of the EP, characterized by a pleasant keyboard motif and Buccigrossi's excellent vocal performance. To finish, the group offers us the sweet "Sleeping Beauty," which concludes this excellent EP in the best way possible.

In conclusion, we can say that this demo is the definitive confirmation of the talent of this young band, and I eagerly await their next work.
