Lorenzo Cherubini, known as Jovanotti, is an Italian singer-songwriter and rapper who debuted in 1988 and has blended rap, pop, world and electronic music throughout a long career.

Debuted in 1988 with Jovanotti For President; long career mixing rap/pop, world and electronic elements; has performed large beach and stadium events (Jova Beach Party); worked with producers and figures mentioned in reviews such as Claudio Cecchetto and Rick Rubin; widely discussed on DeBaser with mixed critical reception.

Reviews on DeBaser show Jovanotti as an artist who began as an innovative rap/pop DJ in 1988 and later explored singer-songwriter, electronic and world sounds. Early albums like Lorenzo 1992 and L'albero are frequently praised; later commercial/summer releases and some recent records receive mixed-to-negative reactions. His live shows are noted as energetic and crowd-pleasing.

"La mia moto", the second album, is far worse than the previous one, "Jovanotti for president" (and this says a lot) because here it was chosen to speak Italian, and programmatically Cecchetto abandons the pseudo-rap vehicle aimed at thirteen-year-olds to communicate directly to his young men, always the same ones, now two years older and beginning to have their first stories.

Jova knows what he's doing and how. He entertains and involves, surprises and captivates, and on the whole one can qualify him as an Italian artist of considerable depth.

for me, is a masterpiece, definitely the most beautiful by Jovanotti, one of the most beautiful in Italian music spanning those two decades.
