I only knew John Parish as a collaborator and producer of P. J. Harvey.

In reality, John composes, sings, plays everything, collaborates with everyone, produces everyone, he does it all himself, in short.

I had a suspicion that he might have distant roots in Ferrara. It seems not.

Anyway, I saw this CD on sale for 5 euros and since I'm a huge fan of Polly, I bought it.

And I did well, because from the first listen it turned out to be a very valid album.

It is a collection, curated and produced by Parish himself, of tracks from the soundtracks he composed.

The pieces seem to be chosen without an apparent common thread, a heterogeneous mix of many musical genres.

There’s a bit of everything. John is like that, even if he is from Bristol…

Ambient, rock, contemporary, electronic…mostly peace and serenity, but also sharp energy, at times.

A heterogeneous mix, as I said, but also harmonious, in the end.

I just wanted to highlight and share with you this work, which I find very beautiful.

Moreover, it opened up a world for me, because I didn’t know this artist in depth who has done many truly interesting things.
