THE REVIEW

NINJA 2009 Tour Sample is definitely one of the coolest EPs ever released.

It came out during the Wave Goodbye Tour by Nine Inch Nails, for free, on the official website.

Jane's Addiction and Street Sweeper Social Club were indeed two of the numerous bands opening the concerts for Trent and company. The legendary acts decided to lay down some tracks as a celebration of that magnificent moment.

It's also the true debut regarding the collaboration of Tom Morello with Boots Riley from The Coup, and in fact, the two tracks they composed ended up the following year on the self-titled album.

The Jane's Addiction present new versions of two tracks dating back to their first album. Opening the dance is the tribal Chip Away, with drums and tormented vocal effects: rhythm, as well as the typical closure in the band's concerts. Whores is the dirtiest and most compelling track of the bunch, and also recorded in studio for the first time (the previous versions of the track are all live).

The Nine Inch Nails offer two tracks excluded from With Teeth, namely the fast-paced Not So Pretty Now and the typical Non-Entity, which don't really add anything to their rich repertoire, but I consider them nice episodes in the context.

The Crossover of Morello and Riley's project is sparse and essentially finds strength in the famous guitar formula already widely celebrated in Rage Against The Machine and Audioslave, but The Oath and Clap For The Killers flow pleasantly.

The mini high-intensity rock project showcases the interesting sound transitions between giants of the glorious past (and present, I might add).

Six tracks that entertain greatly both completists and those seeking adrenaline: a good 20-minute dose or so.
