LA RECENSIONE

"From the brave to the fearful, we will all fall. From slaves to the civilized, we will all fall. We will abandon lovers. Bad days, pleasant nights. In the great shipwreck of life, we will all fall." (Chris Corner)

Years ago I was plunged by a Red album into a sound-filled post-adolescence that lasted far too long...

"Kingdom of Welcome Addiction" consists of 11 songs suspended between 90s Electronica, Dream Pop, and Dark-New Wave: little songs, perhaps, but they emerge from a culture of "simple elegance" that's been all too overlooked.

Unexpected to find oneself, with the windows down to feel the wind tickling the face, singing little tunes steeped in a melancholy that, for once, isn't sterile sadness...

Unexpected to find illumination amidst so much apparent darkness.
