THE REVIEW

Who conquers the masses, who is for the few.

Three tracks (two unreleased) steeped in the usual intimacy characterized by lady Mazzy Star Hope Sandoval, accompanied on the Warm Inventions adventure by Colm Ó Cíosóig, drummer of My Bloody Valentine.

In August, the single Sleep brings attention back to this partnership that for about sixteen years has continued to offer quality.

Notes rise on the escalator called night ever higher, a gentle greeting to the xylophone and the lullaby is served. The titletrack with a smooth jazz flavor seems more serious and adult in its three-minute litany, while Let Me Get There is an acoustic reinterpretation of the collaboration with Kurt Vile featured on the band's previous album Until The Hunter.

Son Of A Lady has its bright colors, but it appeals to the late-night audience. It's a musical extremism that requires the small hours to be fully appreciated, you'll deduce it easily at the first listen.

It's the voice of a woman who knows much, who gives the world much more than she could receive.
