Henri-Georges Clouzot (20 November 1907 – 12 January 1977) was a French film director, screenwriter and producer known for tense, suspenseful noirs such as Le Corbeau, Les Diaboliques and Le Salaire de la peur.

Clouzot's films are noted for their cynical view of bourgeois society, tight plotting, memorable twists and sparse use of music. Le Corbeau (1943) provoked controversy and censorship. Les Diaboliques is frequently compared to Hitchcock and was adapted from a novel by Boileau & Narcejac.
