Sh! An exclamation of annoyance aimed at shutting up the next person. Or the new album by Heike Has The Giggles: an emerging band in our indie scene.
The trio from Ravenna blends in this album relentless Punk-inspired melodies with guitars featuring Funky rhythms, without ever losing that Pop aftertaste that distinguishes them.
The album, containing 11 tracks by the band, opens with the highly rhythmic "Doctor S" in which a charged intro embroidered by Emanuela Drei's guitar explodes into a catchy and engaging piece. The CD then continues with "Robot", a gritty piece in its progress that does not fail to delight us with a chorus of a punkish flavor! We then arrive at the title track: "Sh!" a piece that is, all in all, commendable, but when it comes down to it, turns out to be the least incisive of the album.
Continuing the listening, it is noticeable how Heike have truly committed to creating their characteristic sound and have produced a work that does not show even a hint of a filler: pieces like "June 16", the furious "Stop joking about Britney Spears" and especially the dance-inducing and evocative "Too Many DJs" represent a glimmer of light in the desolate Italian indie scene.
And what a glimmer!.

I was immediately struck by the talent of the singer, guitarist, leader, songwriter... in short, the soul of the group, Emanuela Drei.
I think they stand out among billions of young bands, and they have the potential to grow well, let’s hope...
