THE REVIEW

I have to say, on Friday things seemed slightly compromised: the concert was scheduled to start at 9:00 PM, and at 10:00 PM, we were still lost on an unspecified road in the wealthy northeast.

Knowing my crew, however, I was quite calm: there is no rock band in the world that takes the stage at the appointed time, let alone if we're talking about a group of glam fucking rock slobs. Anyway, back to us, we finally managed to arrive at 10:30 PM: as expected, our dear Swedish boys hadn't started the soundcheck yet, so all was well. To get into the concert itself, it must be said that Hardcore Superstar totally kicked ass. I apologize for the French, but there's no other way to define the concert on Friday, July 21st. They also played the entire latest album (a real bomb of ignorant rock), fully confirming their hard turn.

Seeing them live makes you realize even more that the one holding the whole band together is the bassist, who seems like a real tractor. The singer wasn't bad either: at first, I feared he wouldn't make it through the entire concert, but then he improved as the songs went on (sure, he's completely obsessed with Axl Rose...). Nice touch when the drummer quoted "Wasted Years" by Iron Maiden. Even though the audio wasn't perfect, it was more than sufficient: I would have kept it a bit louder, but I'm deaf, so my opinion doesn't count. The guitar was sometimes a bit too loud, but that's exactly what you expect from Hardcore Superstar.

The highlight of the concert was definitely during the encores: with "Bad Sneakers and a Pina Colada" and "My Good Reputation," the concert ended on a high note.
