Hank Williams (1923โ€“1953) was an American country and honky-tonk singer-songwriter from Alabama. Backed by the Drifting Cowboys, he became one of the most influential figures in country music, writing and recording enduring classics before his death at 29. He was an early inductee into the Country Music Hall of Fame (1961).
