Known for a lo‑fi aesthetic, short hook-packed songs, and a prolific output, they broke out with Matador-era classics Bee Thousand (1994) and Alien Lanes (1995). The lineup has often revolved around Pollard, with the group active 1983–2004 and 2010–present.
