THE REVIEW

I have always followed the evolutionary policy of Gorefest with extreme interest, even when they transitioned from the raw and pure death metal (thanks to which they made their mark in the early '90s) to a metal with hard rock, psychedelic, and seventies-oriented nuances, only to return, two years ago and after a long silence, with "La Muerte," an album that once again brought them to the forefront with mortiferous sounds.

The new "Rise To Ruin" is a solid work that showcases a violent sound, transcending genres, although death and partly thrash are the main courses of the main dish, highlighting how the Dutch band has composed nine tracks that shine for instrumental versatility, compactness, power, dynamic impact, constructed with judicious alternations between accelerations (predominant) and slowdowns, smart concreteness, intentional brutality focused on the target, and sound cleanliness (not negligible in this regard is the contribution made by Tue Madsen).
