Divinae Carnis year of our Lord 1991, in the epochal Birmingham trio formation. A fleeting, intense yet audio-shattering work titled "sklaven," indigestible, it was skillfully structured on solid audio-reminiscences of industrial/steel: considering the three decades since its publication, practically an eternity in the realm of extreme music, it is still a very cutting and potentially audio-intriguing work.
Just over twenty irate, lucidly ruinous, and sound-destroying tracks, divided into four cathartic vinyl fragments (only later were the tracks remix-extended and duplicated on digital media); the already established mastery of sound-confrontation expressed in the first two really impactful works was represented in this context even more resolutely and compellingly: Langian sound-expressionism, spectacularly alienating and therapeutic.
"Slavestate", the dynamic and relentless titular track, disorganizes the mind due to impressive and mechanistic, heavily squared ground-scraping drum machines, unshakable and repeated industrial/guitar emissions, then angry vocals as fiercely guttural as they are firmly distinguishable. Uncompromising and ultra-reckless sound-density molds the supposed electro reiteration/contamination contained in the jarring and spectacular "Someone Somewhere Scorned": a rigorous sound-ferocity always and still easily tamed, also endowed with significant and chilling sound-intelligence. Obviously, the graceful pantheon mentioned above was further saturated and pervaded by leaden and sharp atmospheres of clear dub/electronica substance; saturated, martial, powerful scans: electro-ferocity like we have rarely managed to fully appreciate in such an effective manner. By taking an overview of the dense (six works, not considering collections, mini-albums, and assorted compilations) and overall positive artistic trajectory devised by the now-abandoned Mr. Broadrick-project in question, even in its (or thanks to -You Decide-) time-briefness, the present impactful confluence of sounds remains, indisputably in the judgment of the raving de-reviewer, the work endowed with greater unyielding clarity in the entire course of the Albionese and multi-project Master Justin.
A remarkable emanation, yet decidedly sound-hostile as well as agnostic: in case you grant some a posteriori ear-attention, handle with care & as usual, happy eavesdropping.

Blood
04 Meltdown (05:48)
Hundreds of people gathered around
In a trance they dance when the vibe is really happenin'
The rhythm and the beat of the music take control
Just like primitive pagans worshipping idols of pleasure and pain they pray
Spirits will come possess their souls
Your mind aches, your knees begin to shake
You shiver and quiver and squirm and then learn
That your mind is melting, you're hallucinating
And your whole world is melting MELTING DOWN
You never expected to be so disconnected
As to lose all sense of time and leave behind
The world that you once thought you knew so well
Surrounded by people sharing the same vibe
The emotional feedback is amplified
Into a cyclone of madness that spins and spirals down
The evening moves on, it's getting near dawn
You're not tired, you're wired, you're on fire
Your heartbeat is rising and your temperature's climbing
And your whole world is melting
Down you go now get up
On your feet stand up
Take a breath and catch up
You're getting closer and closer
Now you're MELTING DOWN
08 Slateman (05:56)
Your blood on my hands, Your blood on my hands
Grey machines, Dying ocean
Slateman
With your hand on my heart, I need air
With your hand on my heart, I'll still survive
Slateman
