LA RECENSIONE

There are bands that have been representing the Italian underground for years, historic bands that carry forward their thoughts with consistency and determination, this is the case of Glacial Fear, a band active for over a decade.

Their latest work is titled "Filthy Planet," a simply astonishing piece of work, twisted and sure to amaze enthusiasts of the genre.

"Addicted To chaos" opens the show, the specter of Voivod comes alive, a simply alien song characterized by the distorted and dissonant arpeggios of guitarist GLK, who we also find in a band I reviewed a short while ago, A Buried Existence, making it hard to confuse the style. Excellent performance by the drummer, a war machine, and the rhythm section in general; you realize from the start that the rotten planet of Glacial Fear is truly rotten, excellent performance by singer Giuseppe, a nightmare voice.

"Crimescop" is, in my opinion, the masterpiece of the album, obsessive, hallucinatory, in some ways dark and twisted, the years of experience have benefited this band which I certainly consider among the best in our local underground scene.

The CD flies by quickly, the average length of the tracks is 3 minutes, and various genres blend together with great mastery, hardcore, death metal, thrash, and more, a masterpiece that ends with the excellent "Worms".

I recommend anyone who does not yet know this creature to listen to their tracks and wish the band members to reap the fruits they have sown in all these years of their career, maximum respect to Glacial Fear!!
