LA RECENSIONE

After an EP, Giuseppe Di Gennaro arrives at his debut album with eight tracks immersed in the brightest singer-songwriter aura. Produced and arranged by Di Gennaro himself, from the first track (Tutto quella Notte, which also has a video published) it demonstrates a great narrative ability that encapsulates in a few minutes a story that could be a micro-screenplay of a film. A story narrated from a uniquely subjective perspective. And so on... All the following tracks are proof of an enveloping songwriting that overwhelms the listener with its fluid writing, set against a structure with a pop impact that is easy to grasp. Just listen to Tempi moderni or Foto ricordo to believe. Moreover, the Apulian singer-songwriter, who has been residing in Milan for years, also has the ability to move with ease and wisdom among various musical genres and sounds (from indie folk to the jazzy tones of Foto ricordo to the rock stride of Immaginifico), always making this new, very interesting debut album of an author who, among other things, has already been noticed and has collaborated with Cristiano De André as a "ghost writer", varied and interesting.
