Gene Vincent (born Vincent Eugene Craddock, 1935–1971) was an American rock and roll and rockabilly singer, best known for the hit "Be-Bop-A-Lula" and his recordings with The Blue Caps on Capitol Records.

Born in Norfolk, Virginia. Best known for the 1950s hit "Be-Bop-A-Lula". Fronted the band The Blue Caps; guitarist Cliff Gallup was a notable member. Suffered a serious motorcycle accident that resulted in a long-term ankle injury and a characteristic stage brace. Died in 1971.

A positive, historically minded review that frames Gene Vincent and Bluejean Bop! as foundational for American rock. The review highlights "Be Bop a Lula," Vincent's band the Blue Caps and guitarist Cliff Gallup, and notes Vincent's lasting stage image tied to a serious motorcycle injury.
