Garth Jennings

Garth Jennings is an English film director, screenwriter and producer, known for directing The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (2005), Son of Rambow (2007), and the animated film Sing (2016).

He co-founded the production company Hammer & Tongs and began his career directing music videos and commercials before moving into feature films.

The single DeBaser review sees Jennings' film as a competent, enjoyable adaptation that nevertheless cannot capture the book's singular, sui generis quality. The reviewer calls the film well-made and rather ridiculous, and suggests the original is best preserved on the page. Rated 3/5.
