Forgotten Woods are a Norwegian black metal band formed in 1991, known for melancholic, misanthropic songwriting and a strong influence on depressive black metal. After As the Wolves Gather (1994) and The Curse of Mankind (1996), they went on hiatus and returned with Race of Cain (2007), released by ATMF after No Colours declined due to lyric controversies; the band explicitly rejected NSBM in interviews.
