After their last work "THE COLOUR AND THE SHAPE" from 1997, the Foo Fighters return with another album that truly deserves 5 stars. The band, led by former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl, produced this album in 1999 and received much acclaim, selling millions of copies.
The "alien hunters" really impressed me with this CD, not that the previous or subsequent ones are worse, but in my opinion, with this album, they managed to highlight all their style by composing fantastic songs that evoke great emotions in those who listen to them.
"THERE IS NOTHING LEFT TO LOSE" is a truly complete album, rich with gems like "BREAKOUT" or "LEARN TO FLY," and it also features tracks that are quite different from one another.
In fact, within the CD, there are very energetic and destructive songs like "BREAKOUT" or "STACKED ACTORS" and others that are melodic and relaxing like "AURORA," "GENERATOR," or "LEARN TO FLY," as well as acoustic tracks like the splendid "NEXT YEAR" or "AIN'T IT THE LIFE." Don't underestimate the lesser-known pieces that always reveal pleasant surprises for fans of the group.
Notably, Dave Grohl's fantastic voice, in my opinion, makes every Foo Fighters song unique. The tracks are structured in an inimitable way and do not tire the audience, even after many listens.
In short, I can say that the album is surprising, and I suggest those who don't have it absolutely get it because it is truly enjoyable to listen to.
The Foo Fighters establish themselves on the international scene as one of the most original and powerful bands that still keep the name of Rock high.
It is an album that does not seduce with its uniqueness or the artists’ skill but rather impresses for the strong impact that captivates you even at a first fast and distracted listen.
