Faust are a German krautrock collective formed in the Wümme area in the early 1970s. Known for their experimental, noisy and Dada-influenced approach, core long-standing members include Jean-Hervé Péron and Werner "Zappi" Diermaier. Their early albums (Faust, So Far, The Faust Tapes, Faust IV) are widely cited as influential in experimental and alternative music.
