Imagine enrolling your child in kindergarten. You dress them up nicely and enthusiastically take them to meet their new friends. Only when you arrive at kindergarten, things don’t go as they should. The kindergarten is surrounded by flames, the children are deformed and scream like maniacs. The teachers are nuns who alternate between serene moments and bursts of anger while a distorted version of Looney Tunes plays on TV, with Bugs Bunny in a straitjacket.

This is what you should expect from Suspended Animation: the soundtrack of a nursery for the children of criminally insane parents.
It's quite useless to dissect the album: the typical Fantomas sound amalgam of sonic explosions is mixed here with samples drawn from cartoons. The very division into tracks is quite futile: no one will ever remember the difference between April 5 and 18. But that's not the point, clearly. The point is to portray madness, schizophrenia, each time in a different context. This time it's cartoons, who knows what it will be next.
Honorable mention for the artwork, even more refined than the usual very high standard of Ipecac productions: a small calendar for the 30 days of April with illustrations by a Japanese cartoonist.

Oh right, I almost forgot. The band members. If anyone doesn’t know one or more of the following gentlemen, they have a lot of catching up to do. Dave Lombardo (Slayer, Grip Inc.), Trevor Dunn (Mr. Bungle, Secret Chiefs 3, Electric Masada, countless other collaborations), Buzz Osbourne (Melvins).
And finally, him, the mastermind behind this madness, Mike Patton (do I really need to write any names in these parentheses?) as the psychiatric orchestra conductor.

Mike Patton cleverly composed about thirty new dazzling acrobatic pieces to match only the days of this month.

A must-see in concert at least once in a lifetime, guaranteed!
