Fantômas is an American experimental/avant-garde metal supergroup founded by Mike Patton with Dave Lombardo, Trevor Dunn and Buzz Osborne, known for tightly executed, genre-defying compositions and extreme sound collage.

Publicly known lineup: Mike Patton (vocals), Dave Lombardo (drums), Trevor Dunn (bass), Buzz Osborne (guitar). Associated with Ipecac Recordings. Debuted in the late 1990s and remains intermittently active.

Reviews portray Fantômas as Mike Patton’s iconoclastic, precision-played collision of metal, noise, voice-as-instrument and sudden microstructures. The Director's Cut is celebrated for twisting famous film themes into manic miniatures. Suspended Animation is framed as cartoon-infused madness packaged like an April calendar. Delìrium Còrdia polarizes strongly: for some it’s art and claustrophobic cinema; for others it’s pretentious and “not music.”
