LA RECENSIONE

"On April 7, the eleventh solo work by Fabri Fibra, as well as the ninth studio album, arrived" (a semi-quote from a nice DeReview).

Two precise years ago there was Squallor. No advertising or interviews, just music.

This year, it seemed like the carefree spirit of Fabri Fibra had resurfaced again: Fenomeno is a bit of nonsense, but fun. Like all of Fabrizio's singles since 2007.

And instead, among the 17 tracks of this work, I found myself faced with a really great production, well-written lyrics, and effective collaborations. Am I going crazy?

Fenomeno sounds a bit cynical, a bit disillusioned: it's an attack on those who have always cornered him (Nessun aiuto, Ringrazio), on Italy's trash TV programs (Fenomeno), but above all, it's very personal: Fabri talks to us about his own stuff, his past, and his insecurities, all without the annoying rap dance from Guerra e Pace or Controcultura, but with new sounds ranging from old school to trap. The feeling Fibra left me with is that he has created a sort of Turbe Giovanili part 2, 15 years later.

I might have gone completely crazy, but to me "fenomeno" was a really interesting album, even though it still features some remnants of the more carefree Fibra. With a truly enviable team of producers (we have Shablo, Bassi Maestro, and Don Joe), the sounds of this album are very varied. I recommend listening to it.

Best tracks: Invece No, Dipinto di blu, Lascia Stare, Money For Dope.
