LA RECENSIONE

Eyehategod sound damn Slow and Vintage. As tradition demands. They blend Hardcore (perpetually and stubbornly Old School) with suffering and schizophrenic vocals and relentlessly Slow and oppressive riffs. Sometimes the tempo picks up, as if offering the listener a small demonstration of what can be achieved by playing heavy, yet not forgetting the explosive power that can be contained within even a brief sonic jolt.

"Sister Fucker Part 1 & 2" are here to prove it. Punk (take this definition with a grain of salt) Bad and metallic, cascades of riffs borrowed from Toni Iommi. But rendered much harder, as the latest generation of Hardcore and Doom currents demand. The tracks primarily develop with numerous tempo changes, panzer-driven riffs succeed each other only to give way to acid-noise inspired digressions aimed at depicting anger and frustration. We travel on dirty territories that have made the success of sick ensembles like Crowbar and Iron Monkey just to be clear. Yet, this is one of those sound frameworks that for a long time (read the first album "In The Name Of Suffering", 1990) has been proposing this dense and heavy sound without declines or lapses, without sudden changes in musical direction, here to testify to being one of the most credible and undisputed Sludge-Doom bands. This is where substantial bands like Negative Reaction and Cavity have taken their cues. Listen to Believe.
