The great Exodus return to the music scene, and after the album "Tempo Of The Damned," it was believed they wouldn't continue due to various issues related to drugs and numerous lineup changes. However, they came back with the violent and excellent "Shovel Headed Kill Machine," a concentrated burst of power that confirms they are back in a big way. Their sound is hard, typical Trash Metal, which drives me crazy, with a screaming and aggressive voice.
The cover says a lot about how the band is pessimistic about the future. The cover depicts a dark figure crushing a multitude of human skulls under the tracks of its tank. In fact, Exodus think of a war and catastrophes that will wipe out humanity... The songs on the CD initially seem repetitive at first listen, leaving you stunned by the violence that will drill into your ears. The album opens with the song "Rase", starting with the guitar immediately followed by the drums. "Deathamphetamine", which opens with bass and drums, deals (as the name implies) with the drug of destruction.
Two tracks later, we reach the splendid "I Am Abomination", which takes on the meaning of the band's manifesto. Another memorable track is the pounding and bloody "44 Magnum Opus." The penultimate track, the title track, is a good song that addresses what the album's disconcerting cover shows. The record ends with a bonus track.
This work is very good compared to the lackluster music generally present these days. I recommend it to all thrashers.
I start thrashing my head at 360 degrees... completely smashing the walls.
One of those solos starts that sends me into an epileptic fit with foam at the mouth and eyes rolling back.
An album built to destroy everything, it will annihilate the world.
It’s pure fucking thrash metal without the influences that crept into Sepultura’s latest albums.
At the time of its release, this disc was hailed as a half-miracle, a masterpiece of modern metal.
The album combined technique and great compositional skills, showcasing a cohesive and energetic group.
