Étienne Daho (born January 14, 1956 in Oran, French Algeria) is a French singer-songwriter and figure of modern French pop, active since the early 1980s and known for blending synth/new wave and chanson with orchestral and electronic arrangements.

Born January 14, 1956. Key records mentioned in the reviews: La Notte, la Notte (1984), Collection (1987), Eden (1996), Les chansons de l'innocence retrouvée (2013). Collaborations noted in reviews include Saint Etienne (Reserection EP), Françoise Hardy, Astrud Gilberto and Debbie Harry.

DeBaser's reviews (by Danny The Kid) praise Étienne Daho's elegance, voice and stylistic evolution from 1980s synth/new wave to lush orchestral pop. Highlights include Eden (1996) and the 2013 Les chansons de l'innocence retrouvée. Overall: polished, sensual, highly recommended for aesthetes.

For:Aesthetes and listeners of elegant French pop, fans of synth-driven and orchestral pop, dreamers

Well yes, this is a matter of the heart; comments or no comments, target or not, patience, let it go as it should, I write this review primarily for myself, because this album deserves it, because it inspires me with a lot of beautiful sensations, and consequently a lot of nice thoughts, always very pleasant to put in writing.

Born on January 14th, exactly like me, albeit a few decades earlier (1956), a star in his homeland and highly esteemed internationally, at least among fellow musicians.

Paradoxically, "Collection" sounds more cohesive than the subsequent "Pour nous vies martiennes" and "Paris Ailleurs", subject to sudden swings both in style and quality.
