THE REVIEW

"In the End, There is only the GOATSERPENT, No Gods or Devils, Only the GOATSERPENT. Hail ENBILULUGUGAL!"

Irremediably corrupt.

After literally clogging, within a few years [between 2000 and 2004], the most putrescent and self-referential depths of the inscrutably dense black/death/weirdo/noise underground scene in the USA with a substantial series of demos and various splits with improbable if not entirely unmentionable titles, our Californian mercenaries released, through Rusty Axe Records, their definitive, imposing (forty minutes and beyond), imperishable yet musically maddened cornerstone/manifesto: "Noizemongers For Goatserpent."

The cover image might indeed suggest much of what is culpably advocated in the twenty-nine(!) tracks grouped here: the demonized goat is - poor thing - in the throes of a heavily tar-like stomach attack: unfortunately, the scant biographical notes we possess do not reveal whether this is a consequence of listening or a preamble to it.

Openly influenced by similar musical abominations such as Abruptum, Barathrum, Beherit, Bestial Summoning, Goatlord, Gonkulator, and VON (you'll forgive my gross ignorance, but in truth, I wouldn't have the slightest idea who these are: all of them, I mean), the elegiac Enbilulugulay Lords [Izedis - Screams, Nebiru** - HellAxe, Alcoholonomicon - HellAxe/Skins of the Lamb, Asaruludu* - Goatguts] produce one of the most naive (allow me the archaic-generalistic term) and entertaining pieces [among the many titles worth mentioning due to the chronic excess of textual madness, I would point out "Raped by Mammoth", "Devil Diarrea", "Koldgrimm HellMasturbator"] I have come across in the last (almost) forty years of honorable research in the field of pseudo-musical atrocities.

Technical skill ever more approximate, howling like a clogged kennel ("Cut The GoatNekk"), decisively paroxysmal speed ("Bachachadugga"), abominable distortions, assorted madness ("NekroShit") and frankly delirious volumes ("Fukkin' Aggha") are the malodorous key ingredients of this disorienting, seemingly senseless and deformed jumble that must be taken and assimilated for what it is: a joke (often, moreover, moderately successful).

With 29 tracks featuring provocative titles and paroxysmal speed, it offers a deliberately disorienting listening experience influenced by extreme underground acts. The album's rough technical skill and extreme sound are viewed as both a joke and an entertaining piece within its genre.
