What a record! This album by the Uzbek pianist Eldar Nebolsin is a classic. Of course, it’s not an album I would listen to every day, also because Schubert is a composer not easy to listen to, but as they say, you have to give Caesar what belongs to Caesar.

The album starts with a bang; indeed, the Sonata in A minor No. 4 D. 537 has a truly overwhelming beginning, making it absolutely unmistakable. This piece was also part of the lineup of a concert that reached the status of authentic, absolute, and indisputable super classic, namely the concert that the immense Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli held in the now distant 1981.
