I would say, "Hey, who's in the mood for nonsense like that?" But when you play in front of an audience that never seems satisfied, sooner or later you start to find yourself boring. The idea of playing the guitar with my teeth came to me in a place in Tennessee. Down there, you either play with your teeth or they shoot you! There was a trail of broken teeth all over the stage. When you play with your teeth, you need to know what you're doing, otherwise it can turn out unpleasant. For many, what I do with the guitar is vulgar. I don't agree. Maybe it's erotic, but what rhythmical music isn't? Music is such an intimate form of expression that it's destined to evoke sex. And what's wrong with that? Is it really that obscene? More obscene than any erotic advertisement you can find in newspapers or on television?
