IVANO FOSSATI - LINDBERGH
#MyLifeInMusic #1
Shamelessly copying the idea of Hj and Mr. Money, I too start a column where I post my all-time favorite albums, without any particular order. The idea was to publish one album per artist, but for many, I'm not capable of doing that, and I will probably post two as well.
In this album, we find a very different Fossati from his pop-rock beginnings, but an artist who is living in a mystical period reminiscent of some of Battiato's works, gradually testing the waters for Anime Salve with De André.
A beautiful, refined, sweet, and especially ethnic album in some arrangements.
(Unluckily, I couldn't find the whole album on YT)

Percy's Song / Fairport Convention
But how beautiful is this song??

I Loved Another Woman- Fleetwood Mac
I don’t dismiss the band’s 'pop' phase with Nicks, but the earlier ones with Green are better; just listen to their first album or 'Then Play On', one of my desert island discs. If all this isn’t enough, just listen to this track, and especially that guitar...

Peter Hammill - Time Heals
It's not an easy time for me, dealing with university crises and little time for myself and my music. Perhaps Hammill's music may not seem like a wise choice, but the 'cathartic' effect that listening to this album has on me is unmatched.

11 Ancient Highway - Van Morrison
Perhaps the last great song by Van Morrison.

Niccolò Fabi - Una Somma Di Piccole Cose
Freshly awarded the Targa Tenco for best album of the year, Fabi's record is truly a little gem. Indie Folk in the style of Bon Iver and Iron & Wine, elegant pop like Sufjan Stevens.

Creedence Clearwater Revival - Ramble Tamble
It may be clichéd (or maybe not?), but when I'm in the mood for some real Rock, I often turn to this band.

Area Reunion -Ares Tavolazzi e Paolo Tofani- Visiones in Marmilla 2011
We have had and still have (thankfully) incredible musicians here in Italy. But yes, we always focus media attention on Jovanotti, Ligabue, and the usual 4 idiots.

Family "Old Songs New Songs"

#FamilyWeek I'm using the same hashtag as Hj for Family week... what can I say about this song?? One of the most beautiful from Family and my favorite from their first album. Chappo..

Neil Young - Thrasher - (lyrics)

#GiochinoNeilYoung #RustNeverSleeps Not his most famous one, nor the most celebrated, but it will always be my favorite song by Neil Young... In this song, Neil doesn't have much for everyone, always with a thought to his own future; and how beautiful is the final harmonica part??

Ingrandisci questa immagine
Friday night at a venue in the province of Naples, I find this little disc for 5.90 euros.....Of course, I got it!

Lucio Battisti - Abbracciala Abbracciali Abbracciati
Maybe my favorite Italian album of all time... Lucio <3

Franco Battiato - Shock In My Town

Shock in my town, velvet underground!

Pink Floyd - Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun + lyrics

Before the paranoia, before the worldwide success, one of the most beautiful songs by Pink Floyd largely written by Waters.

Elton John - Ticking (Caribou 10 of 13)

The real Elton John...... piano, voice, and lyrics written by God.

Bon Iver - 33 "GOD" - Official Lyric Video
Do you like Bon Iver's 'entrance' into electronic music??
