Hello, my name is Sonia. I am 23 years old and I study Music Criticism at the University. My passion for music began in mid-2007 when I discovered Queen and Led Zeppelin. I started with Rock (Deep Purple and Pink Floyd are my absolute favorites) and then Metal came a year later, when someone in class took the trouble to lend me Fear Of The Dark by Iron Maiden. But it was with Judas Priest that a world unknown and terribly fascinating to me opened up. Having attended the Artistic High School of Siena, I did not want to continue by, for example, going to the Academy or other art-related schools, but I enrolled in the Faculty of Humanities, dedicating myself to music from a theoretical point of view. I prefer to leave practiced music to those who know how to play it.
However, I continued to paint on my own and here music proved fundamental. A fundamental point of inspiration, it has accompanied and still accompanies me in everything I do professionally and not.
After various experiences on underground Italian Metal sites, I decided to stop and write on my own because I saw that it gave me more satisfaction to create my own things without time limits or anything else, rather than creating things dictated by someone else. After all, being an "ARTIST" (many of my acquaintances call me that), for me the word LIMIT does not exist. For me there is only freedom, creativity, and improvisation.
If music remains my main professional activity, I also owe thanks to ART in general. To cinema (and to KUBRICK who changed my existence), to painting (which has given me and continues to give me a lot). I always try to collaborate with other artists who have the desire to experiment in the cultural field.
Listening to Metal, I do not define myself as a metalhead, but as a consumer of Heavy Metal because I find it a very limited term confined to a single musical genre. My musical tastes range from Metal to New Wave, classical music, Rock up to '80s Pop, but basically I listen to what I like. I don’t care about labels. They only serve to give order.
