The Jimi Hendrix Experience Axis: Bold as Love

dictionary, you gave a 3 to "Axis," the same rating as Scaruffi (6/10), a 4 to "Master of Puppets" (8/10 by Scaruffi), a 4 to "Firstborn is Dead" (8/10 by Scaruffi), a 4 to "New Day Rising" (8/10 by Scaruffi), a 3.5 to the self-titled debut by Iron (7/10 by Scaruffi), a 4 to "Filth" by Swans (8/10 by Scaruffi), a 5 to "Blonde on Blonde" (9/10 by Scaruffi), a 4 to "Downward Spiral" (8.5/10 by Scaruffi), a 4 to "Affinità e divergenze" (7.5/10 by Scaruffi), a 5 to "Faust" (9.5/10 by Scaruffi), a 5 to "Not Available" (9/10 by Scaruffi), a 3 to "Ziggy Stardust" (6.5 by Scaruffi), a 4 to "Butthole Surfers" (8/10 by Scaruffi), and now you say you would give a 4 to "Are You Experienced?" and "Electric Ladyland" (both 8/10 from Scaruffi). I eagerly await your first rating that contradicts the legendary Piero.

making a silence album is a brilliant idea; the problem is that it's an idea that others have had before, and thus reproducing silence is technically plagiarism and therefore of no artistic value.

Is prog snobbery? Rather, punk was born as a reaction to the excessive cerebralism and self-indulgent refinement of certain progressive albums (for example, take a look at "Tales from Topographic Oceans").

Fantastic! You agree that it's a ranking made by someone who's clueless and you mention it to add value to Petrucci's solo... well, consistency at its best!

HAHAHAHA! In that ranking, before Petrucci's show-off solo, there's Neil Young's in Cinnamon Girl, which consists of a single note and is 200 times more expressive.

Surely an indispensable review that brings to light essential elements of novelty, never touched upon in the other 12 reviews of the same album, such as "they really have created an excellent masterpiece" or "melodious sax solo" or "beautiful and imaginative sound of the New York group" or "Metropolis Part.1": the group's most beautiful song"... but the gem of this review is undoubtedly "the Dream often makes their songs last much longer than usual... and that’s why they are my favorite band," so I recommend "Beautiful Speck Triumph" by Birchville Cat Motel: 130 minutes divided into 6 drone pieces.

I believe that "Axis" is underrated just because it is compared to "Are You Experienced?" If it had been released by an unknown artist as a debut, we would all be talking about a masterpiece, while many just say, "great album, but not Hendrix's best." I'm pleased to see that many here are giving it the rating it deserves: 5 stars. "Spanish Castle Magic," "Castles Made of Sand," "Little Wing"... just these three are enough for the highest score.

In my opinion, if you learn how to play an instrument through your personal journey, filled with diverse experiences, and not solely based on academic studies, you will have a definitely more original approach; if, on the other hand, you do like Dream Theater, who compose songs as they were taught in the Berklee composition course, you are simply perpetuating sterile stylistic formulas that serve no real purpose. However, this criticism I have of DT comes, of course, from my perspective regarding music. I prefer to listen to Yo La Tengo or Mercury Rev over Dream Theater simply because I don't hear the empty academicism of the Boston band, but I don’t mean to say that one is objectively better than the other; it’s just my point of view.

In jazz, it might still be an acceptable argument, but rock is full of incredible artists who couldn't care less about the rules of harmony. To express oneself, it's not always necessary to know the standard rules; in fact, often the best results come from artists who don't know squat about theory.

I saw them, unfortunately, live... they had large foam costumes that were ideal for the mid-summer sun. Quite funny, in truth, but worthy of a maximum listening time of 30 seconds flat. These won Eurovision 2006, just to grasp the level of that event.
