primiballi, let’s talk about 13,629,069 people in the last elections; if you add the League, we go over 17 million votes out of 36 million voters, not exactly small change.

Check out the 3D cover!!!! I've never listened to them, but I understand they don't beat around the bush with the buzzes and fuzz.

I quote Weseven, for me too the first "Effloresce" is their best; in the following one I don't like them anymore, they've undergone a regression towards more mainstream sounds, somewhat like Dredg and Porcupine Tree that you rightly mention. On a first listen, this seems to have returned to the initial approach, but still not at the level of the first.

I have serious doubts about NME being the most authoritative Indie music magazine. Are Ash the heirs of Smashing Pumpkins?? Bah..

"I Sing this Body Electric," "Black Market," and "Mysterious Traveller" are the best in my opinion.
Ayreon Into The Electric Castle - A Space Opera

Some tracks like "The Mirror Maze" are not bad, but overall it doesn’t stray from the average of the albums released by InsideOut, the label of the more conservative prog metallers, fond of technicalities and self-referential quoting. I prefer Ayreon’s "The Dream Sequencer"; if it has to plagiarize, at least there it plagiarizes things I like.

This album is incredibly underrated? But it's the one that sold the most!

Rating this record a 1 and calling it a drag seems atrocious to me...but okay, it's a matter of taste. Generally, I lean towards judging music independently from the lyrics, but in certain albums it's impossible to do so. In Rock, in my opinion, music holds a position of communicative supremacy, but in works like this I tend to rethink my stance.

RATM are overrated, yes, like most mainstream bands, but there is quality there; the first album earned 4 stars back then, and all in all, it still holds up now.
