They influenced Modern Lovers, Yo la Tengo, Sonic Youth, Galaxie 500, Pavement, Jesus and Mary Chain, Pixies, Morphine, Mazzy Star, Joy Division, Dadamah (and many of these in turn influenced thousands of artists)....Bowie said "The Velvet Underground invented the landscape; we just populated it."

beautiful "Golevka", one of the best classic post-rock records, indeed "à la Mogwai", although I honestly find them slightly monotonous in some passages, especially when the tracks build up, a flaw that the Mono also have, just to mention a similar band, even though I prefer the latter. Moreover, nearly 70 minutes divided into 6 tracks can only be digestible with Alka-Seltzer and preferably during the evening/night hours.

Boston does AOR, that is to say the most kitschy and clichéd version of American rock. IMHO, of course. A bit like Kansas or Journey.

Jurix, who are you addressing? Because I, for example, detest bootlegs and try to avoid them almost always unless they are really interesting things. I do not love the fanatic completeness towards a single artist, and even less the collecting of precious pieces and rare editions. I mostly prefer official studio albums and often snub a lot of official live recordings as well.

Muffin, "Are you experienced?" (recorded between October '66 and April '67), "Fresh Cream" (recorded in the fall of '66), and "The Doors" (recorded in August '66) are undoubtedly masterpieces (although I might place "Fresh Cream" a bit lower), but chronologically they come after the 3 albums I mentioned ("Blonde on Blonde" between October '65 and March '66, "Freak Out" in March '66, and "VU&Nico" on the famous April 25, 1966 in New York). As for Pet Sounds (early '66), its influence was more related to the use of voices and the construction of melodies rather than a true shift in approach.
