Coldplay Viva la Vida Or Death And All His Friends

"One of the best of 2008, at least for the high spots on the charts" excuse me but I can’t help but spontaneously say "THANKS A LOT!" in the higher ranks of the charts, there are Beyoncé, Pausini, Britney Spears, Tokio Hotel, Christina Aguilera...I think even a fart wouldn’t look out of place next to them. "Viva la Vida" one of the best singles of the decade? That sappy and cliché little tune? If I didn’t know the past decade well, I’d be tempted to say "then it was really a shit decade!"

I don't consider this album among the most important of 2008, just as I don't see Coldplay as one of the most significant bands of the last 10 years, not even in the mainstream sphere.
Dream Theater Train of Thought

Perhaps the most sincere album since "Scenes from a Memory", in the sense that they let loose their instrumental wankery without pretending to write songs. The virtuosistic showboating of all the instruments, without exception, is at its peak here and is not hidden but boldly displayed. Just like the citationism, (the ever-present one) in this case concentrated in the metal sphere. It was already clear that they had nothing to do with prog, but here even a deaf person would pick up on it.

As for Mentana, I remember hundreds of broadcasts where he asked completely innocuous questions, never putting the prime minister or guests from his side in difficulty, never even pointing out when they made gratuitous insults towards voters or political figures. I followed Annozero in recent years, and it is absolutely not true that it only deals with gossip; in fact, the vast majority of episodes focus on crucial current issues, from the economy to immigration, judicial news, the labor market, and so on... Moreover, Di Pietro is not a permanent guest, and there are always guests from the center-right. Regarding Santoro's conviction, it's for saying that a circle close to the Northern League had attitudes similar to far-right movements, which is, to say the least, obvious. If this makes him a criminal...

Ah, thank you, I often get criticized for that list, but those are just the records I prefer; it’s not a ranking that aims to be objective like Scaruffi's. :)

I have never heard Mentana or Floris ask an uncomfortable question or demand explanations about certain convictions for mafia or corruption of illustrious figures; I only hear journalists like Travaglio, Gomez, Barbacetto, and Padellaro discuss these topics. For many years, Mentana was the Bruno Vespa of Mediaset; every time he hosted the gentleman on his show, he treated him with kid gloves and reverence, never contradicting him. The same goes for his news program, which, while being less blatantly biased compared to current ones, often concealed uncomfortable news. I have never heard Mentana or Floris talk about the 9-year conviction for mafia of Dell'Utri, but above all about what the rationale of that sentence contains… stuff that the New York Times would feature in 9 columns on the front page for months and months.

Well, comparing Santoro to Emilio Fede seems like nonsense to me. Fede is a subservient doormat who has lost all dignity to glorify his boss, offending anyone who doesn't think like him. Santoro, on the other hand, while being biased, is a servant to no one. In his broadcasts, he talks about facts and raises issues with great analytical skill, often asking uncomfortable questions for both sides.

The basic idea?? The classic and stereotypical tale of a group of kids going into the woods and encountering all sorts of things? Is this the basic idea?

A film of embarrassing mediocrity, one of the absolute worst seen in cinemas in recent years. Nevertheless, the damn talking cow is trashy as a scene.
