The Flower Kings Retropolis

"The Melting Pot…a suggestive and relaxed atmosphere, almost jazzy, a piece very much like a night club, I would say, but also suitable as a soundtrack for a nice moment of relaxation." I mean, we are talking about a fairly lively prog piece (sterile in its citations as well as lacking originality), with quite a few solos (see the guitar solo from 2:07 to 3:08)…but really, do you relax listening to this piece? Jazz atmosphere, from a night club???? I hope you are joking, there is no night club on the face of the earth that would even think of playing music like this, the customers would flee immediately. The Flower Kings are the classic mediocre band of InsideOut. "Prog is not dead"...well, judging by these albums it seems that it has been a corpse for quite some time.

I add to the list of VoodooMiles: The Sound, Minutemen, Dinosaur Jr, Metallica, Rush, Pixies, Slayer, Meat Puppets, Faith No More, Husker Du, Flaming Lips, Bauhaus, Psychedelic Furs, Talk Talk, Mission of Burma, Feelies, Dream Syndicate... it’s a historical misconception that rock was dead and buried in the '80s; on the contrary, it was very much alive (even though I actually prefer the '70s and the '90s).

Well, for certain topics, relativism is a necessary step. Take divorce, for example; there are those who believe it is wrong to allow it and those who believe it is right. Over time, people's mindset has changed, just as it has regarding the possibility of abortion, assisted reproduction, euthanasia, and so on. I mean, as long as we're talking about killing or stealing, we all agree, but it is in the extreme cases of ethical issues that we find the need to abandon certain presumed "objective" dogmas to allow people the freedom of choice.

From the Church's perspective, in principle, relativism should be avoided, and this is quite obvious, given that it must defend its values, based on the word of its God, whose validity according to the scriptures is immutable and eternal. However, in practice, over the centuries and with the evolution of civilization, the interpretation of the word of God has gradually changed, certainties have been softened, and certain convictions have been overturned. The exegesis of biblical passages has slowly shifted from the literal to the metaphorical level, depending on the needs of the various eras.

look, Smurfette is well-connected and is there just because she gave it to Papa Smurf.
Stanley Kubrick The Shining
Voto:
The film that evokes the most terror and anguish in me, without a doubt. I could never, ever watch it alone at night. The opening piece with the soundtrack by Wendy Carlos and the helicopter shot is something mystical, transporting you into the abyss of madness. The scene with the tricycle, just thinking about it gives me goosebumps. Kubrick, a master of shots with the steady-cam, Nicholson sublime, editing, use of sound, quotations, dialogues...everything perfect. It’s what you don’t see that torments you, room 237, the memory of a massacre that happened right there...the madness stemming from forced isolation, the labyrinth a metaphor for the complexity of the mind.

rock, with all the work that the law enforcement and prosecutors have to do, do you really intend to bother them with this nonsense? Do you really think it’s that much of a priority to pursue a user who’s messing around on a site, when there isn’t even enough gas to chase after criminals?

Roccia refers to the so-called weapons of mass destruction that were supposed to be found in IRAQ, but it later turned out they never existed. However, more than a million civilians killed among the Iraqis, those unfortunately exist.
