So everything that is played is a stylistic element! Therefore, it's foolish to play a fifth chord, a seventh chord, an arpeggio, a major scale, a pentatonic scale, a harmonic scale, vibrato, bending, or a slide because these are all things that have been done and heard before. So if someone teaches you a way to play an instrument that has already been used in the past, run away as fast as you can, I urge you, don’t let yourself catch the disease of the déjà entendu! According to this reasoning, Blues shouldn't even exist, being more than any other genre filled with these stylistic elements! And Punk, for example, often characterized by a repetition of power chords, should abandon them since they are stylistic elements that only a fool would play! It's foolish! It's foolish to take inspiration from the way a musician from the past played or to be inspired by the phrasing of a blues or jazz guitarist, perhaps using some of their ideas because you find them interesting!
