I agree, that's very nice too, but I recommend "Every Red Heart Shines Towards The Sun" which in my opinion has something extra in originality, especially in the concept (how did they come up with it?). And what do you think about Panopticon? For me, it's a milestone of the last 10 years.

Lux, can I ask you what you think, if you’ve heard the latest from Red Sparowes? It’s called Every Red Heart, etc... Right now I’m going crazy for this album just like I did for Panopticon by Isis.

Yes, but you've heard and judged the sample, while those were just names, as thousands are made every day on this site. Anyway, I don't want to escalate things...peace&rock

Well, Opeth are always great for me too, no doubt about it.

It becomes clear then that I had a wrong impression; but if that's the case, I'm glad, because otherwise we would be facing a flattening of personalities and subjective tastes. I was referring, for example, to when, in a review I think of the Muse, a guy asked Easy what bands he listened to, and he mentioned, I believe, the Blossom Toes and Polvo, and you intervened almost like the professor's lackey saying, "added to the list"... I mean, do you see what I mean? Anyway, I agree with you on Scaruffi, also because he often says things that are worth sharing. Peace.

Lux, without offense, can I express an impression I've had several times? Every now and then it seems like you've been almost plagiarized by the musical ideas of your "mentor" Easycure (kissing the hands)... in short, you've gone in less than a year from Blind Guardian, prog-power metal and various things to Sonic Youth, Pixies, post-hardcore, etc... You make tremendous discoveries on Scaruffi's site (rightly so, because there are many interesting insights), and you've completely renounced your past listening; moreover, the impression I have is that every time Easy speaks, you hang on his every word, diligently noting down all the bands he mentions like a good student (truth be told, not always fabulous). Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't see the presence of your personal tastes in the bands you often mention (unless they coincide exactly with those of Scaruffi). I mean: as far as I'm concerned, if I don't like an artist, even if they were innovative and objectively essential in the history of rock, I wouldn't lavish immense praise on them... absolute respect ok, but that's it. For example, from Easycure (blessed be his name), I discovered two great bands he often mentioned: Slint and Tortoise, which brought me closer to post-rock, just as I've discovered countless great albums from Scaruffi's site; but while there is a very wide array of artists I appreciate and love thanks to such recommendations, there is an equally vast collection of albums I detest, even within genres I adore, and no matter how hard I try, the objective reasons given by various experts do not budge me an inch. To make a long story short, since your "conversion," you have never disagreed with Easy, to my knowledge, on any judgment. P.S.: for instance, I don't like Battles but I bet you'll find them awesome.

a good album of orchestral ambient, some moments recall certain works by Brian Eno, definitely worthwhile, although to reach 5 stars it would need a bit more of the magic found in the last track "Repose in Blue"... still, I prefer "Lambent material"

You see, this is where you're wrong: in music, you only seek technique and "musicality"; you don't aspire to the perception of a meaning, of a mood, but only seek formal perfection, and for this, the DT are more than suitable...

muse91 recommend me some bands that play post-rock

"If for you having expressiveness means showing humanity on the instruments, that is, making the occasional mistake, then you haven't understood a damn thing" =-0...muse91, for you making music means striving to neatly arrange all the little notes without making any harmonic or theoretical mistakes, but without having a meaning to confer to your music, or is it about subordinating the form to the sense that the final result will tend to pursue?
