Spaccamscella, we're on the same wavelength, I agree.

theknife, if freedom of thought means remaining ignorant, without questioning one’s own judgment and enduring subpar music without ever looking beyond one’s own nose out of a foolish pride that makes you say "I won’t be commanded by anyone, no way, because I am special," then I guess I don’t know what "freedom of thought" means. What you mean seems rather like a freedom to not think. P.S.: if we fall into subjectivism and relativism, then we can pack up the whole thing and shut down the site.

Longliverock, if for you those bands are the crème de la crème of '70s-'80s-'90s rock, I already understand what kind of listener you are. So there's no point in discussing things with you that you wouldn't understand.

Are you telling me that you deleted Godspeed, Slint, and Tortoise for space reasons, while keeping Manowar?!?!?! Tell me you're kidding.

The list of groups I mentioned included the Dirty Three, among others, and you told me that it’s all manufactured in production and standardized. So let me tell you something: go get a nice sleep, and whenever you have the time, I recommend downloading some of the albums I suggested. Listen to them, and then you can maybe make some specific observations.

So if you don't know them, how can you say they're manipulated?

I asked you for arguments to support your theses, not just for you to repeat the theses. Don't try to be clever because I really want to see how you can prove that a group like the Dirty Three are manipulated in production. If you manage to demonstrate this to me, I will cover my head with ashes and humbly ask for your forgiveness, but DO IT!!

Enough, Lord, you’ve really worn out your welcome with your arrogance FROM ON HIGH. Therefore, I’m forced to bring back the question I posed to you regarding the review of the Smashing Pumpkins that you ran away from; would you kindly provide your arguments about the fact that the bands I mentioned (Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Slint, Tortoise, Dinosaur Jr., Labradford, Bark Psychosis, Dirty Three, Swans, Vampire Rodents, Built to Spill, The God Machine, Mogwai...): 1) are, as you claimed, influenced by MTV or somehow manufactured in production; 2) are not fundamental milestones in the evolution of rock music. Thank you, I ask you to respond, but this time don’t make excuses.

Riccardo, on the other hand, is a beardless 20-year-old, with glasses and a long beard, who wants to be alternative and scholarly, without knowing where Scaruffi's theory on modern music comes from. He therefore critiques everything in the style of Piero Scaruffi, with the only difference being that while Scaruffi has at least solid musical foundations, he knows those 4 records that he probably found after checking Scaruffi's rankings. This is not an observation; this is an insinuation.

So give me the name of a more reliable critic than Scaruffi, so I can discover how ignorant I am.
