At times alienating, at times unsettling, nonetheless a great work of improvisation that uniquely blends electronics, avant-jazz, and ambient (with a hint of Jon Hassell). Perhaps at some moments it may seem boring, but it is essential to listen to it with the right mindset, sufficiently detached.

They're not Pink Floyd, but this album has aged poorly... in fact, I think it was poorly conceived from the start... It's undeniable that compared to their early work, there's been quite a drop. But even just looking at the albums released that year (1987), there’s an abundance of better stuff: Sister by Sonic Youth, You're Living All Over Me by Dinosaur Jr., Oh My Gawd!!! by the Flaming Lips are the first ones that come to mind...

I listened to it again a few months after the first time, and the excellent impressions it initially gave me have quadrupled... we are in the presence of a tremendous masterpiece... in this album, there’s everything, not only in terms of styles or genres but also in terms of well-defined expressive approaches... and despite this, it maintains a fairly homogeneous unity. A work that is simple in its complexity and complex in its simplicity. Moreover, it's very important for its influences. Great!
